Sweet and Sour cake, featuring sour cream, spiked with your favorite liquor and garnished with walnuts and chocolate chips.

Serves: 12

1.5 Cups White Flour
1 cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Sour Cream
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
3 Eggs

1 lbs Sour cream
1 cup Sugar
1/2 cup Walnuts, crushed
2 Tbsp Flour

1/2 cup Water
1/4 cup Sugar
3 Tbsp Liquor, (cognac, vodka, rum ...)

Dough: Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 inch cake form. Mix eggs and sugar with a mixer for 1 or 2 minutes. Add flour and baking soda, mix well. Add sour cream. Bake for 40-45 minutes or test with a toothpick, it has to come out dry. Let cool down.
Frosting: Mix sour cream, walnuts, sugar and flour in a small sauce pan, put on low flame, mixing frequently until it gets thicker. Let cool down.
Syrup: Pour water into small sauce pan, add sugar and let it get to the boil. Take off the stove, add your favorite liquor. Let cool down.

Cut cake in half horizontally to create 2 layers. Put top slice upside-down on the serving plate so that the top becomes the bottom. Evenly pour syrup onto cut sides of both layers. Spread half of the frosting over the layer that is on your serving plate. Put top layer back onto the bottom layer and spread remaining frosting over the top.

Decorate as desired with walnuts and/or chocolate chips.
