Another variation of Russian meatballs - this time as a main ingredient of a soup.

1/2 Lbs ground chicken or beef
2 potatoes, peeled and cut in cubes
1/4 Cup rice
2 carrots, sliced
2 onions
3 Quarts Water
fresh parsley and dill
salt and pepper to taste

Boil water in a medium pot. Meanwhile put meat in the mixing bowl. Great 1 onion and add to the bowl, add salt and pepper to taste, add a little water if meat is to dry, mix well. Form meat into half inch balls. When water is boiling add meatballs and whole onion into the pot. Cook for about 15 minutes. Add rice and cook for 10 minutes, then add potatoes, carrots, parsley and dill, salt and pepper to taste. Cook until rice and potatoes are done. Discard of onion.
Serving suggestions:

Usually served with a piece of rye bread.
