Traditional Russian buttermilk pancakes.

1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 Cup White Flour
1.5 Cups Buttermilk
1 Egg
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Vegetable Oil, for pan frying

Using a whisk or an electric mixer, mix the egg, salt and sugar in a mixing bowl, then add buttermilk. Combine the flour and baking soda in a separate bowl, then add to the liquid mixture. Mix again until you have an even consistency. Heat the frying pan and add vegetable oil to the pan. Scoop the mixture with a tablespoon and put it on the pan. Put about 6-7 pancakes (2-2.5' in diameter) on the frying pan at once. Fry until the underside is golden brown, then flip. Repeat frying process until all of your batter is used.
Serving suggestions:

Serve with sour cream, maple syrup, honey, or your favorite fruit preserve.
